Electromagnetic Design and Analysis
An expert software package is used for electromagnetic design and analysis of synchronous machines. Designer of this package has considerable experience in production of industrial and special electrical machines. This software package involves classical theory and numerical method, combined with experience factors accumulated in design, and applications activities over the past 35 years. Every design method has been proven and revised and test results. The predict performance by the electromagnetic design program is very consistent with test results. This software has been proven and continuously updated by the development of several hundred combinations of different frame sizes, pole designs, number of poles, insulating materials, low voltage and high voltages up to 13,800 volts, and a wide range of output ratings. It is a powerful and convenient CAD procedure for high quality alternators and motors.
The following machines are included in the electromagnetic design:
- Brush and brushless synchronous machine design
- Salient pole synchronous machine design
- Cylindrical pole synchronous machine design
- Main exciter design
- Pilot permanent magnet exciter design
Electromagnetic calculation determines the following characteristics:
- Open circuit
- Short circuit, zero power factor, and rated load excitation
- Excitation at a specified operation point
- Losses and efficiency
- Reactances and time constants, transient and subtransient
- Load performance I=f(If) and V=f(If) with various power factor
- Synchronizing power and displacement angle
- Saturated and unsaturated short circuit ratio
- Unbalance magnetic pull
- Transient voltage dip and load rejection
- Capability curve
- Stator weight, Rotor weight, Energy stored in the rotor
Our electromagnetics engineering design capabilities are not necessarily related only to electrical machines design. We can successfully apply our knowledge in other fields of engineering.
